Applications of Calcium Phosphate Blends in Dentistry

 

           At Indiana Nanotech we prepare novel blends of calcium phosphate additives that can be incorporated into and delivered from various oral vehicles to improve the health of the dentition. Some of these vehicles include fluoride-based toothpastes, mouthrinses, and varnishes, as well as products that reduce tooth sensitivity. Specifically, these materials are formulated to address:

§ Caries Inhibition

§ Enamel/Dentin Remineralization

§ Resistance Against Dental Erosion

§ Dentin Tubule Occlusion (see images below)

Applications of Niobium Oxide Coatings on Implant Materials

 

           These self-assembled microstructures have modifiable morphology which enable them, for example, to readily induce apatite nucleation when immersed in supersaturated solutions emulating body fluids as shown in the top-view SEM images below.
